Albedo Informatics is looking for a full time Sr. Character artist! We are a Toronto-based software development startup with a focus on location based gaming, VR/AR and more. We are currently building an RPG called SIGIL for our in house platform LARGE (www.thisislarge.com). Formal deets below.
Your background:- Educational background in 3D Art, animation or equivalent industry experience
- Expert skills in character creation tools, which includes Maya, ZBrush, PS and related software
- Strong understanding of art fundamentals and character design; how it applies to creating appealing characters for 3D; strong understanding of human/creature anatomy
- Strong hand-painted texture skills as well as hard surface modeling
- Strong sense of production standards and experience using related software (trello, asana, etc)
- Mobile gaming or VR/AR experience
What your typical day looks like:
- Create awesome and visually appealing characters, collaborating closely with the Art Director and other team members
- Review character art of internal and external artists; giving constructive and concise feedback
- Mentor junior artists, help define and keep production standards, collaborate with developers to integrate assets into game engine
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years in the gaming industry
- Experience with mobile games, VR/AR, Unity Game Engine
- Experience with hi-poly/low-poly character creation pipeline and hand painting textures
