This is a show illustration I made with my sculpt in Zbrush, would really appreciate some critique and pointers, to push it further or make it more interesting!
I think you could push textures on the hide right now, it seems a little rubbery. Are we looking at scales here? I think you could also make things more interesting by adding some color to the feathery/furry areas. Contrast might be nice, but something to differentiate his tail fur and stuff and make it pop a little more.
It looks real, but not realistic. what I mean by that is since you based it on a sculpt, the rendering is technically correct, but the whole thing looks like its plastic or carved out of wood, especially the "fur" or scales or whatever it is.
its not a bad start, but the whole point of painting over a 3D model is to fix all the things that would take to long or be to hard to do in 3D, not just colour it.
