[Riot Creative Contest 2017] Charactert Art - Nami: Mechanical Mermaid

Hello!

My idea for this contest is to create an original Skin for Nami. I want to make her as a steampunk mechanical mermaid that's been rusted and oxidized from spending too much time underwater. My design will be based around metallic plates and blue+orange rust.

Here's the influence map that came out from my first brainstorm.

Zbrush for the high poly. I'll use Maya for retopology

Props and clothing placement and styling.

I'm thinking about making her a bit curvier and stylized in shape. Also the face shapes need to be roundier and prettier. Any other feedback? ^-^

The general shape is done. I'll ad the last few final touch-ups and I'll start to do the retopology.

This is my first complex retopology so I hope it is okay. I feel like there are a lot of polys in the face and neck area but she's pretty low poly anyway (under 8k triangles).

Any feedback is welcome!

UVs are roughly done. I left some free space for the weapon, it stills need to be done haha

I'm struggling a bit over color choices, specially on her shirt. My favourites are B or A. I think C brings a bit more the steampunk vibe to the character and D is the safe one because most of the accesories are tealy too.

This diffuse is a rough base work.

I think she's warped up! I'm so proud of this one, I worked hard, learned a lot in the process and came up with a cool result.
