ZSphere issue, new to ZBrush

Can't seem to figure this one out. I started a model using only ZSpheres and saved the Document. After closing ZBrush and reopening the document, the model is stuck in 2d mode and "Edit" is grayed out. I looked through the list of tools and this model is not there. It seems like this model is lost to 2D forever. Is there a way to get it back?

The Document is an Image Document, no different than a Photoshop Document. Thus, when you save the document you only save the image. If you didn't save the Model (The Tool) then all you have is an image document filled with pixels, so unfortunately you lost some work.

Thanks. It's not too important that I lost the model, I'm only practicing and learning the interface.

Another issue I can't understand. When I make a Zphere, click A to preview, then turn on poly frame, it looks very high poly. I have watched tutorials and it doesn't doesn't do this for anyone else it seems. Do I have some setting turned on?

It's a newer change to zspheres, so the tutorials are slightly outdated. You'll just need to go to the Adaptive Skin subpalette and turn Dynamesh Resolution down to 0. You might also want to drop Density down to 1 (density is basically how many times the zsphere result is subdivided from the start).
