[Riot 2017 Art Contest] Taliyah "dancing with spirits"

Hi to all) (＾▽＾)♡

I want to create skin for champion Taliyah in oriental style and change her skills to dragons and spirits. I think her ULT will be amazing to look like  dragons )

I try to make the concept of skin to reveal my idea and then an illustration)

These are my initial sketches of how oriental Taliyah may look like
 I was also thinking of her sleeves consist of magic effects or small oriental lamps, origami, prayer paper stripes, etc.
I have so many ideas about her look and skills style so I can't decide! ))

Which of these do you like more?

Wow, IReally like this concept. Can't wait to see the final result!   
I really like 8 and 12.
8 because it takes me back to that "Spirited Away" vive with all the asian influences, like a dragon dancer, spirit bender (i dunno)
I like 12 because in the final splashart you can give such a good dynamic and flow of movement with that "cloth strips" she has. but I would change that diamond shape into something more round (like yin-yang or a magatama for example).

This is a really cool idea. I like #8 because it stays most true to her silhouette but in a different and creative way.

On 1, There is something to do with those eyes on her sleeves !
2, maybe as too much details and tiny parts that don't serve the harmony of shape in the silhouette.
3, My favourite for now.
The first one on your sketch sheet was also interesting because of the mix between asian and middle eastern references.

Interesting, in greyscale I was imagining more greens and reds rather than a blue-violet color palette. Oriental is a bit vague though, which culture were you thinking of when you designed the shapes? It would be a good idea to look at the common colors and patterns used in that culture's garments and borrow from that to help it be more coherent. You mentioned Japanese influences a few times in the thread so maybe look into Miko (shrine maidens of the Shinto faith) for color and shape ideas.

Karma has some really nice non-Chinese skins that are good visual resources btw.

4 is easy to read from afar which is always the big goal when thinking in isometric. Her legs being uncovered create some unnecessary high contrast on her thighs which should be diminished so her sleeves can pop out, as they are her distinctive element.

6 and 8 Focus more on the teal and cyan which is nice, I like how the focus is on the sleeves. Also easy to read from afar

I know i'm super late to this and all, but i'd just like to tell you my faves of what your concepts were >w< if that's okey~ the first art my faves were 8, 7 has pretty sleeves~, i like 5's hair, 10 is like midnight Ahri it's rly cute and 12 is the one i think won on the second artwork, my fave was 1 kek, on the colors i rly like 2,3,6,7,8,9 lol 2 is rly pretty i love that color scheme on her it could be for a star guardian taliyah color scheme as for the splash concepts my fave was definitely 7 es so pretty ;o; lol,  i also rly love the way you made her shoes look in that it's satisfying to me xD GREAT WORK here's to hoping we get a new Taliyah skin soon and i LOVE your art and concepts ;w; soo pretty ahhhhh i rly hope we get Asian culture themed Taliyah skin or skins in the future her outfit concept makes so much room for beautiful ideas, (i was hoping she'd get a Furisode Kimono skin or something xD but rip Lux got a lunar skin lol)

Absolutely LOVE the dragons, the pose is somehow off for me, it might be that she is a little bit too small for the composition.

I really like the monochromatic schemes you have going in 2 and 4, but I think it looks so much more with the mixture of colors in 3. Although I get a huge Aurelian Sol vibe coming from 4 probably due to the similarity in color schemes...

Ohhh i rly like the #3 color scheme~ since Taliyah has a blue skin already, and is about to get another one with SSG xD maybe the greens would be a better option it's rly pretty~

#4 has a beautiful color palette
Although #2 works very well with the light fabric too but you would need to keep an eye on the values there because her hair merges a bit with the background.

I love it, but is so much purple, try to use others colors (white hair, blue/red effects)

@reyxcx i agree that it is very purple, but definitely not white hair, she already has a skin with white hair, and blue is her skins color as well, jade colors would be a nice addition ~
