My name is Tural, I am freelance artist. Seeking for ways to improve and thought that digital sketchbook is gonna be good way for it. Was doing such thing on other forums, but thinking that polycount in gonna be great for my goals - implementing 3D in my 2D works

Yeah, this is photoshop. I am putting reference on the same canvas where I draw so it is easier to see differences. Also, I put new layer filled black with "color" blend mode so I can see the value. From time to time I make it visible to see how my value relates to value on reference. To be more precise you can use Curves or Hue/Saturation tools.
Ofc no color picking on any stage of study.
Also drew this chubby guy for sake of education - coloring through Adjustment layers is so... adjustable
