Nature Elementalist Lux - [Riot Art Contest 2017/18]

So I have already thought about different ideas for the contest since it was announced over a week ago. I meditated other champions, but when Elementalist Lux was released I really missed an illustration for every form, so this is my chance!!
And because of the week between the announcement and today (7/11/2017) I have made some sketches.

So, I still have some poses left that could potentially work, but when I saw this

inmediately came to my mind a story and a background, in which she´s protecting the forest from a wild fire, maybe caused by that titanic elemental beasts shown in her teaser video, kind of like if she was using her W to save the place she loves rather than her mates (not saying she wouldn´t protect her friends lol). So I did this
And then this.

Okay, I've been a bit busy, but I have thought about why that last picture loked wrong, soooo.. I did some lines as a guide to place the scene. Its not definitive, but I think the perspective will improve like this

The green thing is the barrier Lux is creating to protect the forest, and I thought about the Elderwood theme, maybe I can do something like that with the forest, similar to this skins

Okay, I did more black and white work to kind of see the the illumination and to keep lux highlighted... added some colors to the burning part, and I think I'm going to have some problems trying to figure how the back of the forest works, I used some reference photos but still I might struggle to do that

I like the thought process for the image you created, sounds pretty good.
Just one thing that's bothering me with the picture which took a while to figure out - her neck is really, really long.

Yeah I noticed too, those things I´m noting down to correct them when I'm happy about ilumination. Thx for the feedback apreciate it!!

Holy... the quality of Paint is still horrible xD (still is the most comfortable way of showing the progress).
Well this whole November has been horrible so I´ve done pretty much nothing, nut I´m back at it again. I´ve had time to think, and I didnt really like how I was solving the whole wildfire thing, I´m still struggling with the background so if someone has advice that would be awesome, and I dont really want to start the black and white work until I have figured out the forest... so I hope I have come up with soomething before next friday...

Oh, and now the camera is higher than before, because I changed some anatomy issues.

Lil update. Now I have (to figure out a lot of things) to discover how a small strong light interacts with shadows casted by an ambiental light

Working on it, going to try more color variations, and I´m thinking of the possibility of adding smoke to simulate a barrier rather than painting it (it works in my mind, I´ll see what I can do) and have to do something else for the environment because man, just not enough
 I´m willing to render ffff

So, these are the colors I want to use for the particles, since the light in the flower is the one coming from the wand. Although I wanted to use a pinker light as a compliment color to the rest of the image. I'll see what I come up with, I don´t really want the full illustration to be in a green tone

Okay, last update until it´s finished, I rethought (rethought??) the concept, I was rendering and I wasn't sure if that barrier was going to read as her W as I wanted, so I thought maybe she is bringing life back to a dead forest, and that´s the way is going to stay becaue I don't have more time to change it. Hope you like it

Done! I know I’m not the best but I had fun doing it (I wish college had let me more free time), looking forward to improving!
