Hi all,
I am new to texturing and 3d modeling and am trying to figure out how to add textures to my 3d building that I created from the real world but don't know how yet. I built the model using SketchUp using Matchphoto and would like to learn how exactly to add some basic images onto the model where they need to go such as the tin wall.
I have some great learning tools like Lynda and Pluralsight but so far I have not been able to find out how to add textures from a real world model to a building, just made up game design buildings.
Some of the tools I am learning are Photoshop, Quixel, Sketchup, and 3DS Max.
In case anyone asks I am trying to create buildings and textures from a real world airport.
Any help is appreciated,
Easton

To add textures to a building, it's advised to do a uv unwrap of an object, create a diffuse and other texture maps in an editing program like Photoshop, and attach them to a material which you then assign to the object in 3DS Max.
I've been following these tutorials which cover almost everything you want to know for arch viz.

Probably one important thing I left out, this is just my practice model until I get the hang of things. My big project, the airport, will be inserted into a flight simulator so I am making very low poly models and trying to get started on 4k textures to add to them. When I looked at the links you provided I took a brain dump haha, I'm definitely not there yet!
