Hello all and happy Halloween!
This is a WIP shot of my latest portfolio piece, Grimhallow. I based this off of an old pencil drawing I did. This one was inspired by all the hours I spent playing my Death Knight back when I played world of Warcraft. I have been thinking about that time alot over the last few months. A time where there were few real responsibilities, no full time job, no bills........ I drew the original on a sketchpad while listening to ambient music from World of Warcraft.
The goal is to create a sword that would be wielded by one of unholy means, who thirsts for souls.
The blade is based off of Frostmourne and a seventeenth century european executioners blade. The face on the guard was inspired by a piece of concept art that currently I cant track down. If I find it ill include it in the references.
Im having a tough time finding the right balance between worn and polished for the blade. I cant quite decide if the ones with unholy means would be complete slobs or neat freaks.
