For posterity's sake: This account and 4 others on the same IP were banned for astroturfing for 80.lv (on duplicate accounts), and for not stopping when they'd been warned. I've deleted all of their threads but this one , and will say that ofcourse 80.lv articles are still welcome to be posted to Polycount, but not under false pretences, and as with other self-promotion the rules apply: keep it in one thread.
A fun image to end this on:

It's not a bad site overall. Their articles are totally hit or miss though. I didn't find the one linked in this thread to be superuseful, but to each their own.
Sent this to 80lv a week ago. Never heard back. Strange. Well, I hope this helps others.
Hello. I am one of the admins over on the Polycount forums. A couple of us noticed multiple forum accounts were using the same IP address, and engaging in what seems to be 80.lv astroturfing on our forums. We issued a warning to one of the accounts, but did not get a response. http://polycount.com/profile/discussions/LostHorizon Another account from the same IP posted a new thread promoting 80.lv. So we instituted a ban by IP address to prevent further abuse. We wanted to check if you were aware of this, and to give you the chance to prevent it from reoccurring. We welcome other sites to promote their content on Polycount, as long as the promoter does so in a transparent manner, identifying themselves clearly. And as long as they engage meaningfully with the Polycount community. We do not allow simply dumping press releases, for example. http://polycount.com/discussion/63361/information-about-polycount-new-member-introductions/p1#self Please let us know if there's a way we can work together. Thanks!
