This is my latest WIP character, my own interpretation of Severus Snape. It's based on various illustrations of Jim Kay. I'd appreciate every critics and comments, so don't be shy .
if you aren't referencing the actor who played snape, do you think you can upload what ever concept you used? It would be cool to have something to compare against
IMO i would find someone to reference, while going 100% custom is great. It would greatly benefit you to look at someone as ref, that's how you'll get those little detials in the face that take your model from good to great
Even if you are doing your own concept, always have references. even picking parts from different reference to get the look you want is better than going in without reference
I find the face to be too symmetrical. I'd recomend going for another hairstyle, a scar or anything that breaks that symmetry. Maybe another facial expresion would do. The desk is really good tho!
@DrBurke Thank you for your suggestions. That head was really WIP at the time, and I didn't have time to post the adjustments I made, but here it is. You suggested almost everything I corrected beforehand
Also, I have two expressions. I wanted to make him the bitter man he is in the books. The first expression was sad but I thought he needs to be a little angry, but I would appreciate your opinions about which one is the better.
That hair is so much better! I'm not a big harry potter fan myself, even though i've watched all the movies, but i think he wouldn't allow himself to look sad or down before his students. I'd go for the bitter expression.
I started to retopologizing the scene. I'd like to ask your opinion about the wireframes, Especially the trousers. I want to make it low poly as possible with well-defined traces of the wrinkles. What do you think is this topology on the trousers is acceptable?
