I'm running into a bug in Maya 2016 ext 1 SP6. It seems that objects with ShaderFX materials stop accepting spotlights when they move beyond 5000 units from the origin. Has anyone else encountered this? Do you have a suggested workaround?

Is there scale on the light?
This does not happen if you replace the ShaderFX material with a DX11shaderNode material?

This happens with or without scale on the light. It even happens with just default lights turned on in the viewport.
It does not happen with the DX11 shader.
I can re-pro on multiple computers with different GPUs and driver versions.

This happens at 2500 cm in Maya 2017 and 2018.

I found that in the example above with a simple sphere - I can freeze transform and the light will work wherever the sphere happens to be.
