I wanted to improve my hard surface skills with 3dsMax, so I decided to model and texture a MG-42 with a lafette tripod from ww2.
This will be a hard and long challenge for me, I will keep this post updated.

I am probably a bit slow, but I keep learning and getting faster everyday
If you do it piece by piece it's often that people loose motivation and will not finish the piece.
Beside of this: Nice clean shapes. You have some wiered pinching at the front part (below the iron sight). Not sure if this is on purpose or not (can't recognize t on your reference).
I do have more references that show that kind of pinch, maybe it's a bit strange, I will look into it and look into my references again, thanks.
