I could use some help with retopo in 3D Coat?

I'm just starting to learn 3D Coat and I wasn't able to find information I needed anywhere.
Is it possible to turn the orange guide strokes into green editable ones with segments? I believe I did it by accident but couldn't recreate it later on. If I just click enter to create the mesh it doesn't turn out very well.
