Hello folks!
First time posting here, actually made an account just for this!
Any who, I am trying to get a model rendered and animated with Arnold in Maya 2017. I made most of the texture maps in 3D Coat, the normals were made in xNormal. I recently learned about metalness maps and tried them out. I understand that white=metal and black=nonmetal. But when I plug in my map in Maya it makes the entire model metal, disregarding the map entirely. I can't seem to find any information on this, so I figure I am doing something entirely wrong but I can't figure out what it is....

Here is the map. I exported it as a png but am using the .tx map that Arnold generated
If anyone knows what's going on here I would really appreciate the help.

or turn on "alpha is luminance" in the file node...
