Hey guys,
I'm working on the DMR from Halo Reach for a Arma 3 mod, as well as a portfolio piece.
It's slightly altered to support attachments in Arma. Maybe I will add iron sights too.
Currently looking for some feedback on the high poly, so I can get started with the low poly soon.
I want to start applying for a job in the game industry soon, but I don't know if my work is up to standard. For anyone that has experience with this, I would greatly appreciate your thoughts.

Here are the first bakes fresh out of xNormal.
Finished with 12688 verts, so I'm nicely under the 21k limit Arma has.
Still have some bleeding errors because I haven't exploded the mesh yet, I'll get the attachments unwrapped and set up before doing that. Then all that's left is creating some extra maps like cavity and curvature so I can finally start painting!
All that's left are the magazine and some rounds before the real fun can begin

I'm not really happy with the glass on the scope but other than that I'm really satisfied with the end result.
I would greatly appreciate any feedback to improve this piece!
I agree. I tried to make the steel a bit less dirty and more shiny to get some variation. There is a lot of roughness variety already, but it's not really visible without seeing light move across the surface.
