Hey guys,

I want to expand my PC performance, current specs are:

VGA: Geforce 780 ti 3GB
Board: Z87X-UD5H-CF
Ram: 16 GB DDR3
Processor: Core i5-4570 3.20 GHz

The question is, if to get better VGA and render with GPU, or better set ram to 32 Gigs.

If to get new VGA, what is the best performance? Is Vega good in GPU computing, or better to get 1080 Geforce?

Would be great to hear opinion from people, who own the mentioned VGA cards. The last thing to mention, I am using Agisoft PhotoScan software.

With all respect
Wozner

Hi there. We had 100 GB for computing big photogrammetry projects and it was not enough. It's never enough...
When doing SFM you will never ever have enough ram. This seems to be some unwritten rule...

So good luck.. I - obviously - would opt for ram ;)

ps: of course this depends on the size of YOUR projects and what you want to do

Thanks Rollin, yeah, agree. I aim at doing photogrammetry textures, that process is taking less resources that computing 3d objects, will improve ram. And apparently need to get newer motherboard with DDR4 ram
