Hello fellows. I'm working on a turn-based tactical game in Unity in the vein of classics like Silent Storm and Jagged Alliance.
This is a side project for me around actual work, so I expect it to take a while. Updates will probably be small but frequent. One of the things I'm doing to speed it up a bit is working at a lower spec similar to what I did here. The only big difference is these ones have bolts and magazines separated for animation.
A bit of what the highpolies look like for this project. The nice thing about this spec is how quick and simple the HPs can be. When it all gets crunched down to a 256 or 128 a quick chamfer job looks the same as an actual subdivision model.
And some .gifs from the Unity project... not much happening yet but camera movement, unit selection, movement, and framework for different order types are all set up
