I feel like this is a bit of a noob question, but here goes:
I'm creating an HQ character model, I did it with polygon modeling
but I have never rigged a character
the character will have 4 different sets of clothing
what I am wondering is, when is the best time to rig my character?
I have the basic model done, do i do it now, or when I'm done creating the clothing/texturing?
does it even matter?

As. Early. As. Possible.
For some reason many modelers seem to not want to do that because skin weighting is "less fun" than sculpting, but you will save yourself a TON of time and frustration by simply taking the time to create a clean skeleton and weight your early blockout model to it on the very first day of a character modeling project. That way you'll be able to gradually tweak and test things as you go, and once the actual model is finished it will just be a matter of transferring weights and fixing a few things here and there - as opposed to tackling a big skin weighting step from scratch at a time when you probably start getting tired of the project itself.
Its a little late to do it first day, but ill do it now so that i don't need to wait.
thank u sir!
