Its good to see something different then standard cliches around here 
I tried to find some reference but there is not that much in  books I have 
Currently your big look more like a rhino with all this plates and deflation areas 
Check real pig top right it is round on top and have some distinct form on bottom

hey thanks for the refrence, I had such a hard time finding bone and anatomy refrences on google, just get pictures of pig meat. I know what you mean by the rhino look, I was trying to capture the feel of the concept art. I'm going to experiment with more realistic features too, see how that feels. what do you mean by deflation areas?

started working on the fine details, most of which will blend in and be obscured by the hair I'll put in. Just started blocking in the other props and stuff.
