Art Website / Forum overhead costs?

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has an idea of what the overhead for something like old CGHub or current ArtStation / Polycount would be to setup and run / maintain in the long term. I imagine it's more than I would expect. Really just curious here.

Its crazy to think Polycount needs $2000 to run per month. There used to be websites which allowed forums to be created for free. I guess Polycount must have a lot of traffic and uploads throughout the day, but $2k sounds like so much.
