Just trying to understand a Blender workflow issue here.
I have a base mesh that I created with the skin modifier. I then converted skin to bones , creating armature.
Then I sculpted the base mesh to a high res version, and 'retopofied' using shrink wrap. It's just a demo model that I'm using to understand workflow.
I suppose it goes without saying that the original armature knows nothing about the retopo model and I will have to apply all of the bones and set the weights manually to the retopo model. Is there any optimized workflow to make this process easier? ( the process of applying an amrmature to a retopo mesh ) . My gut says there's no way to really optimize this process but I've been surprised before by tools that I never knew about, it happens on a daily basis I think.
