Hello everyone im working on a barn for a game me and a few friends are making, and im stuck on how i should texture it. the barns walls are made of seperate planks instead of just texturing a flat wall to look like wood planks, so how would you guys texture something like this?

Make sure to get same baked AO in your texture, it's going to help the planks stand out.
Assuming all vertical boards are separate meshes, I'd create a trim sheet texture map full of different boards, then place different UV shells on different planks or areas in the UV space. This way each board will be semi-unique. It's sort of like installing laminate flooring where you only have 8 different patterns so you strategically place planks so that the pattern repetition isn't noticeable... sorry if that is an analogy that makes no sense for you. That's a lot of work though, and I guess it depends on your game to see if that's really necessary. Honestly though, depending on your game, it might be better to just merge all the boards and unwrap the whole wall in one texture map. The 90-degree returns on each board can be flattened in UV space.
Somebody yell at me if this is a stupid approach. I'm not that experienced and don't want to lead anyone astray... Aaaaaand I wouldn't mind learning how to do things better/more efficiently
Make the wall flat but with a nice material + stick some meshes in there
