Is the GTX 1060 6GB good for 3D modeling and animating?

I'm gathering components for a PC that I'll be using for 3D software (3ds Max, Maya, Mudbox), and also a bit of gaming, and I've noticed that the GTX 1060 6GB fits right in my demands. Can you vouch for it, and if not, do you mind recommending similar GPUs with the same price point?

I have it inside my Laptop, it works perfectly with Maya, 3Ds Max, Zbrush, Mudbox, Sketchbook and Unreal 4

A 1070 will give you a significant boost in apps like substance Painter but prices are crazy at the moment so it's debatable as to whether it's worth the money.
