This is entirely a personal passion project. I am a hobbyist with years of experience, but in the name of pragmatism, I know I'll need to outsource aspects I don’t have the time or ability to oversee and complete personally.
In this case, I'm adept at hard-surface modeling and character animation, but not terribly good at character modeling to the level I need.
Details will be given via PM, but the work could hardly be simpler to a character modeler of any true skill. The characters in question are to be recreations of a source that natively renders in 3d, in a flat-shaded anime style, complete with backface culled ink outlines.
The reason for the ease is an abundance of reference materials, including full turnarounds of the characters, and the relative simplicity of the designs.
An emphasis will be placed upon likeness, but otherwise I don’t require cinema-grade quality.
As I said, this is a passion project, with myself the only guaranteed permanent worker, and my means are not terribly much. I fully intend to pay, and expect nothing before you are compensated somehow, be it half up front, half at the finish, or we discuss landmarks in production. All is negotiable.
That said, time is a luxury I have, so this can be a backburner project if need be. I have the time to accrue necessary pay, and you needn't be tied down in the meantime.
I'd go for one character at a time as needed. I don't have a full list at the ready, but the number can be expanded based on scenes I opt to include involving them.
I'm hoping on the whole for modelers who do their own texturing, as it means a single vision for the model. Any format .obj or .fbx type file that can be opened by 3ds max 2014 is acceptable.
However, additional pay might be available for those willing/capable of skinning/rigging the models for animation, in which case Max functionality is a must. There might even be a piece of my own that requires fixing in this regard without modeling work.
I do hope an arrangement can be made with one of you to spur this onward. I am very excited to see this project reach fruition and can only hope you can join me for it!
