Hello everybody! In this thread I will publish the intermediate stages of my work. Since before I modeled only for turbosmooth, low-poly for me is a news. Therefore, I expect criticism and assistance in technical matters. To begin with, in order to be easier, I will make a series of hand grenades. The first will be the legendary F-1. Already finished low-poly and UV of the body and UZRGM:
Decided to add a chamfer on the "cubes" body, you could not see the rough edges on the silhouette. Fuse 2762 tris, the body of 2992 tris.
I make the next grenade from the Russian "model range." RGD-5. The UZRGM fuse will be the same, except for the safety lever. Also I will slightly improve the fuse grid
You're grendade is looking really good! Materials too. Not sure how much the background (the leaves and log) are helping you though. I might ditch 'em depending on what your final intent is for these guys.
Thank you! I just wanted to show them not in a vacuum. Creating a background did not take long. Next, I will make a simple background, so that the focus is on the model object. The models will be for sale.
I think you can add more scratches and dirt to give a realistic feeling if u r going down in that path... Even though there r variation in the texture with all that scratches and bump on it, it doesn't feel realistic, atleast to me ( I could be wrong )... Use a lot of reference for texturing ...
Yes, as an option it will be possible to make an old grenade. In these pictures pre-war samples from the digging. I use more modern samples as references. It is planned to make a series of Russian and American post-war grenades for the practice of low-poly modeling and texturing. Because before that I had experience only for turbosmoos.
HDRI - Garage in Marmoset. Yes, I add light manually. I spin for half an hour to see the glare) In this scene, one additional lamp was enough. But in general I do at random until I like.
just saw CG Society share this on my FB feed, great work. Phenomenal presentation and sexy materials. Only suggestion would be to get your name or something labeled on these beauty renders.
yes, something like that. Often people save a picture they like and sometimes this gets passed along. It's not actually to keep people from taking credit, they could easily crop it out. it's more so anyone who likes it will know who made it, no matter where or how they got the shots.
I put my old folio domain, which just gets forwarded to my Artstation page. And it's easy to remember that way. Make it as easy as possible for anyone who likes your work to find you. at all times
Thank you! First on all popular stock, including Turbosquid. Then,
when there will be more statistics and models, I'll see what is more
profitable, to sell all at once or exclusively to the turbosquid.

I made high-poly. Some of the details in the Max (Chamfer-Turbosmoos), some ZBrush. Baking the maps in Marmoset. Here are screenshots from the Painter

Bake maps in the marmoset. I liked it there, you can visually edit the cage and the direction of the rays!
Spread on the artstation until I will, because there is some feeling that something is wrong.
This time, to create chamfers on the body used only Zbrash.
After a little adjustment low-poly, made the baking.
And for dessert)
