Hello, I am trying to figure out how much an artist or freelancer would cost and what the best way is to get what I need.
I need a certain amount of models and assets, which should also be animated. In detail, I need two environment packs with fitting enemies, assets etc. These should be created exclusively for my game (virtual reality).
Is there a big difference between exclusively and new created but also be able to keep selling them? If yes, the second version is okay aswell.
We are a team of two programmers and we try to polish our game but also keep it on a reasonable budget.
I have no clue about this market and the prices.
For example our current small enemies have: 1000~ triangles
Boss has: 4000~ triangles
Animations which are used/needed:
IDLE
ATTACK
WALK/RUN
DEATH
Probably two specific animations for abilites, f.e. CASTING (depending on the enemy)
We will also need static assets: weapons, items, environment objects etc.
These have ofc. less triangles.
Also, are animations more expensive in my case? We already have many assets, which only need to be animated, how are the rates here?
Style must be voxel, sometimes we also used lowpoly for small objects.
Also generaly how does it work if I hire a freelancer? I assume I will get some samples before, so I can decide whether I am ok with the work.
Any information on this topic would help me alot.
