Looks really useful. I am just wondering. Could I use this tool if I wanted to place army-pouches/backpack on a character model? Now I would merge the pouch to my scene and use normal align to make the backpack face in the right direction. If I could use this for objects that are attached to the surface as in the examples you show AND objects that are placed on the surface I am in.

Why would you want your backpack/pouches to be physically welded geo?

I do not want the backpack/pouches to be welded. I was just wondering if I could use the kitbasher for object placement as well. The solution was right there. By de-selecting the blend option in the kitbasher tool there is no welding.

Sorry. Misunderstood.  Also, the placement tool (right click quad menu) in basic Max recent versions.

My bad, it is late and I was not very clear in my question.

It would be even better if it allowed MCG's or modifiers on the brush objects. That way you could change the topology of the inserted mesh.
