About You

You are a talented Art Director with the creative vision to establish the look and feel of a product, combined with the technical skills to make the art direction possible in VR.  You are passionate about blending art, technology, and gameplay to build the next generation of multiplayer games for HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and PlayStation VR.  You have multiple years of experience with the Unity Editor (or other 3D game engines like Unreal).

Responsibilities:
  • Establish and articulate a unified artistic vision within a highly iterative team environment
  • Direct a broad range of real-time art disciplines (concept, character, environment, animation, VFX, etc) within technical constraints
  • Create high quality in-game 3D assets, concepts, style guides, paint-overs, etc.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team to solve creative and design problems in VR
  • Develop and maintain an art production pipeline, process, schedule, and workflow
  • Create prototypes to test and research new ideas, tools, and technologies
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to internal artists and outside vendors

Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience as a Lead Artist or Art Director on high quality products for consoles or PC.  (Must have experience completing a ship cycle for a product)
  • Broad art experience (including concept, character, animation, environment, VFX, lighting, and shading), with strong hands-on abilities with 3D asset creation
  • Expert level of proficiency with game development tools such as 3DS Max, ZBrush, Maya, Photoshop, Substance Painter, etc.
  • Strong creative vision, with knowledge of techniques and technologies used to achieve high quality visual targets within constraints
  • Extensive experience setting up and maintaining technical art processes and production pipelines
  • Strong experience with 3D game engines. (Unity, Unreal, etc..)
  • BA or BS degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated experience working in self-managed, fast-paced environments
  • Ability to rapidly learn new software, tools and technologies
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
