Thanks for the tips, in addition to the software used for references, you can add both Xnview and PureRef in combination for checking what references you may or may not need. This is something I use in my projects, because if you need to check a specific reference for a minute, rather than for the whole duration for the development it can come in handy. I haven't tried much of Kuadro, but I think both Xnview and Kuadro can be used in combination without PureRef.
@Heartfulwarm Xnview is really good too, it's worth having if you source your own reference and come back with hundreds of images, like you said. You can organise and edit masses of them really easily, they even have a star rating system for sorting. Kuadro can be useful if you want to place multiple windowed images around your screens that draw on top of your other widows. Oh wow. I hadn't even seen PureRef, it's like what I wanted MSMood board to be. The normalise to size and canvas sorting is awesome. Thanks for that!
