First time posting my WIPs here so a little nervous, I'm currently working on my folio and found a cool concept by Hunter Bonyun for a mobile game called Saber's Edge that I wanted to make.
Been working on her for a while now as I've also just been finding my way in ZBrush, so far I'm really happy with it, and intend on doing a full retopo and texture as well
Any comments and criticisms are welcome, and later today I'll post more more recent WIPs of my progress
It's an interesting start, but I feel like you need some more work on some areas. Like the upper arm doesn't have enough volume as the concept itself. But you already have some straps on her arm. I would say the face and the throat area need more work too. You keep at it and you will figure it out. A good start anyway, keep it up.
New WIP after a couple days work Once i'm have with the overall shapes of the fur, i'll do one last look over the proportions and silhouette, then move onto the detail pass. Learning a lot so far from the project so it's totally worth it.
The fur needs a little work, and its silhouette from the front is a little flat, but feeling good so far
Worked on the waistcoat over the past week and got the fur mostly done looking at it now i do want to improve the furs silhouette a little, but other then that i'll be moving onto the next detail pass, then it's time for re-topo C&C is welcome
I know this is way late, but I think your model probably would've benefited from more a wild and looser hair. Seeing it end at a pretty thin and sharp point is kind weird for a character as stylized and sturdy as yours, same goes for the fur pelt. With that said, I think you put in some nice touches in translating the original turnaround. i.e. the nuances with paint fading and dirt/dust, and I think the facial proportions and face rig seem pretty balanced and robust.
@BoonS I totally agree, the hair would've been awesome if it were a bit messier, something that's more true to the concept, this was actually the second attempt at the hair and at some point i had to be ok with it and keep working The fur was a bit of a challenge for me in terms of creating something that translated the concept, it went through a few revisions but I'm really happy with the turnout.
Thanks for that awesome feedback btw it's been good to get it out in the open and see what people think
