Hey there!
This question has been bugging me for some time, and I haven’t been able to find any resources that address it.
Basically: what is the best way to retopo a nearly symmetrical mesh (like a face)?
A.) Is it better to sculpt the mesh symmetrically, retopo it, and then add asymmetry?
B.) is it better to take the sculpt all the way to asymmetry and then retopo the mesh (but now retopoing takes more time because of the asymmetry)?
C.) Or is there another way I’m just missing?
I’d appreciate any thoughts/input! Thanks!

create a symmetrical version out of it...
do a symmetrical retopo...
load the asym highress version and use the relax brush to make the new topo asymmetrical...
works fine in maya...
