So the best way to get material references is to take photo's yourself! The problem is how do you get true RGB value of the material reference to ensure it is not contaminated?
I don't have a good camera or color reference chart, nor do I want to spend the money for this simple task. What do you think is a good way to take accurate material reference with a smart phone?
My best guess is to get a knock off colorchecker or some swatch (paint swatch?) where you know the exact rgb value, when you take your photo's of materials add the swatch so you can match the colour as close as possible, giving you the true colour?
Am I right in this way of thinking?
