Hi, I'm just here to post some work and try to improve. Crits always welcome, or any comments really just as long as they are respectful. Thanks for checking me out.
So, I wanted to do a stylized/cartoon Boba Fett maybe in the vein of
the Disney Infinity Boba Fett just I grabbed some images of basically
looking at how other people had stylized the character and started with
that as my jumping off point.
I studied these and liked certain aspects of all of them so, then I began laying out forms and messing a bit with proportions.
Decided I wanted to make a base for him messed around and found something I liked, nothing too complex. Made this in Maya and brought it into zbrush to add details, baked it out in Substance.
Added a simple rig, and posed him in a more dynamic pose. I messed around with a couple different ones and ended up really liking this one. A couple of shots, rendered out in Marmoset.
Females/female anatomy being one of my weaker points I wanted to work on a female. To help me in this endeavor I decided to follow a tutorial by Matt Thorup, this is just a block out of form. I know It looks blockey but at this point I'm really only worried about proportions and silhouette. As to what female it will become not sure yet although I have a couple in mind.
Got my head shape and I'm feeling pretty good about my proportions, even though I know it still is early. Basic forms are coming along and working with the natural curves of the body, refining shapes and watching the scale of any portion.
Here it is Dynamesh'd while keeping arms, legs, body, shoulders, breasts and buttocks separated to make help retain those forms later on. The hands are really just there as place holders.
Worked the forms a little more and added some light details.
O.k. so as you can see I worked on both the head and hands almost exclusively today. The facial features are not all that important since I think the sculpt is going to be spider-Gwen and will be pretty much covered by a mask. I wanted to make her feel young, I've seen some sculpts and while they are really good, they always seem to age her up and I think she is supposed to be pretty young in the comics. So that's it for today, til tomorrow.
Here she is with some more details, and the hood done. I'm not crazy about the face but it's not that big of a deal since she will be wearing a mask anyway. Still needs some more texture work on the white parts and here webbing.
Here she is with the mask and some more texture work done on the white parts of the costume. I fashioned the look of the textures after workout/fitness clothes. Added her shoes and I thin she's just about ready for retopo and bringing her into painter.
Following the way to do the base mesh from Matt Thorup is a great way to get the basic shapes in to set yourself up for a good modelling later on Coming along well!
Took her into painter and changed some stuff, I added a different texture to the dark part, as well as changing the dark part from a dark blue to just plain black. Finally added the light blue webbing as well as adding a design to the soles of the shoes, although you can't really see in in this pic .
So I was playing around with poses, trying to figure out what I liked the best. I didn't want a straight spider-man pose, thinking that she should be a little bit more elegant/dancer-ish. I've also seen sculpts where they make her overtly sexual, and while I wanted to shy away from that I did want her to have a dynamic beautiful figure like a, well dancer. In the end I inverted the pose like she would be dangling upside down like one of those silk scarf dancers, even though in this pic you can't see it I brought both arms back.

I worked more on proportions and added the props
Final details added as well as tightened up some more of the forms.
His signature ee-3 blaster as well as a better view on some of the props.
Polypainted model, I'll be texturing him in substance painter so this is just rough color.
Finished retopology and UV layout he's all on a single 2k map.
Here are all the assets fresh out of Substance painter.

I'll upload the model here this weekend
