Hey everyone! I just finished putting some more polish on one of my old college animations. Some of you may recognize this one from somewhere else. I used the original Prince of Persia live footage for reference. If you could look it over, that would be great! Here is the link: https://syncsketch.com/sketch/164587#201834
First of all, if you upload the ref to syncsketch, that would be awesome.
For me, the first part of your run where he is looking behind feels like a fast walk. In the ref, it feels more like a jog. I think it's because your trailing leg needs to come off the ground earlier. I would need to frame throught to ref to be certain.
For your starting pose, I would bring him forward a little. His hips move forward through f17 and then stops abruptly. Keep the forward momentum going, don't let it stop completely.
Thanks AGoodFella! Here's the reference: https://syncsketch.com/sketch/164587#202363 . Note that it's 60fps, whereas I'm doing 30fps, because YouTube. Just divide all the numbers in the reference by two, and you'll get my timing. I'll start working on the hips and legs in the meantime.

A cool idea I was taught was just blocking out the legs and main cog for the contacts passing position in stepped and then going from there.
That way your character is grounded and a lot of the balance weight will be sorted early on.
Keep up the good work!
