I'm not sure what exactly is causing it, but everything feels kinda... fleshy? spongy maybe? the scales don't really read as chitinous or hardened. I actually kinda like the horse-like proportions and posture though.
Did another ue4 pass on both the scene and the material rendering. The material setup I have now is very bare bones and simple, but hopefully gets rid of the sponge/soft material effect.
Nice work dude! The materials are looking a lot better in the last set of renders. I really like the horn variation on these guys, it adds a lot of character.
Can you really "study" dragons though? They don't really exist afaik haha
Cool work. Last renders are much better than the first ones. Like that scene with the lava and stuff.
Only little thing I would say is that since everything seems to be only two colors (blue and red), they don't look textured and they mix a bit with the background. It's not a huuuuuge complain, as they still read well with the light and smoke that you put in there. But I'm a nitpicker.
The one on the left is catches more orange light on the last picture, and so he's more easily read, and the one on the right still blend with the smoke, I think.

this is a drake, not a dragon. study failed.
If so, may i see the material network? I might be able to help.
