fit geometry in a mesh [Maya]

Hi, Anyone knows how to do this? like the process in that video but in maya

i tried shrink wrap but it "collapses geometry in a plane" and then shrinks to surface

you forgot to added a plane first> then wrap deform the mesh to the plane> then you shrink wrap the plane to the curved surface

why is he using that script in 3ds max ?  Doesnt max have similar modifiers. Whats the difference between wrap deform and shrink wrap in this case in Maya ?

Wrap lets you deform one object with another. Shrink Wrap conforms one object to another.

So I guess the Max Skin wrap is actually more close to Wrap one in maya
