I was wondering what's going on here when I was rigging and making an adaptive skin for hard surface and it has holes on them when i preview for adaptive skin?
I've had a similar issue in Zbrush before, in my case some of the normals where flipped. I fixed it by exporting it to Maya/3DS Max, making sure they all face the same way and if they are weld all verts.
ZBrush has a bit of a problem with single poly loops. Sometimes it works, often it doesn't. To fix your problem just insert an extra loop through the area where the polys are not doing what you want.
