Answered: Quixel Isn't Masking my Mesh in the right direction.

Pretty much whenever I use the program and I have to texture something using an Alien Skin texture, It never looks right. The Alien Skins and few other materials apply a mask to the top and bottom of the mesh; giving it lighter colour on the underside and patterns and darker patches on the top. The problem with mine, is that it never defines the top properly, and often applies the patterns onto the Rear of the mesh. Is there a way to adjust or designate where the top is? I am using blender as my 3D modelling package.

The issue you're experiencing isn't DDO applying the textures incorrectly but rather that your model's axis is not set to what 3DO is expecting when it bakes your object space normals for you. A simple fix is to reimport the project and re-select the mesh with the correct (Z-up) orientation. Slightly more time consuming is to enter DynaMask for each layer and flip the Top/Bottom direction in the Object Space Normals input. :)
