Anastasia Nikulina's concept called "Superior" was created for the Artstation challenge. I didn't finish on time so I took a break from the project. I'm now finishing it up and I've made some major progress.
I'm nearly done but I will just post all the progress shots I have and try to keep them in order.
ROUGH blob.
Refining.
Low poly - 9,524 triangles.
Exported poly paint for base colors and created a skin shader in Quixel and Toolbag for spec and gloss portions. Very first pass with the emmisive map. Hair next.
Early block-in for the hair. Needs fly aways and some more flow.
Added more edge loops around knees and shoulders to increase smoothness. Messed with lighting to get rid of harsh shadows. Elongated fingers and hands slightly. Messed with ghosty arm positioning and shader. Still need to tweak the hair. Still need to mess with subsurface on the horns.
Hey ReZlience, really nice work! Love the emissive stuff! Looking at the concept, I think you could really push the pose further. Point the toes of the foot resting on the leg and get that bottom foot at the same downwards angle as in the concept, you could also straighten the spine, particularly at the bottom a bit more. The concept has a really expressive monk like pose and the closer you can get to it the more badass this is gonna be. I think as well you could work into the anatomy of the legs a little more. I'm in a library at the moment so I can't get any examples of reference for anatomy as most of it tends to be nude, but I would pop onto a site like 3d.sk and get some really solid reference of bent legs, get the calf muscles tightening as you point the toe and the fat and muscle of the knee bulging as the knee bends. Really lovely work so far, keep it up!
