I'm wrapping up the re-texturing of a drill I made a couple of years ago. The entire thing was re-unwrapped and then baked in substance painter itself. I know the model could've used some more polies here and there, but this was purely as texturing exercise.
Ok, finished this up: - Made a custom logo plaque with Illustrator - The small gear is now also made out of cast iron - Added some more oil and dirt -rescaled the front (drill head + bit) to better match up with the rest of the model.
Thanks! I'll see if I can get some wires from max, as UE4 still doesn't support any sort of wireframe overlay. And this originally was a school assignment from a couple of years ago. We were asked to make a "simple" hand tool to practice baking normal maps.
I wanted to push myself, so I ended up with this rather elaborate hand drill.
Disclaimer: 2+ years old model, don't mind the unoptimized topology.
Ok, did some experimenting in unreal with a second mesh with push modifier applied. I present to you: The wires! Hope you enjoy (For higher resolution check my artstation, didn't want to overload the thread)
