Hey guys,
I'm a little new to the current Polycount forums and I'm pretty sure I had an account before but forgot the credentials... so I guess I'm back and figured I'd post some of the stuff I did in the past couple months. I'm also a little used to doing this stuff in a
regular blog format but since I've maybe had 1 comment in 5 years I'm stepping away from that.
Anyway, a little introduction. I'm a relatively fresh player all-round, with 2 years of post-graduation work experience. My packages of choice are Maya (+Arnold), Mari, Photoshop and Substance. I try to combine them whenever I can. Though I've identified almost exclusively with Substance Designer, this thread is in no way Designer-only.
I hope you and whoever else pops in will enjoy what I did and hopefully leave a comment for some feedback.
Thanks for reading!
Pim

My girlfriend created the model and laid the UVs across 4 spaces. Base material layering was done in Substance Painter, exports then fixed in Mari as I don't like to fix seams in SP. Texture setup contained diffuse, bump, displacement, normal, metallic, roughness. Opacity is achieved by using a combination of roughness and displacement information inside Arnold. Anders Langlands surface shaders used and set to Disney BRDF model to match Substance Painter viewport display.

Got into Marmoset and played around with the settings for these materials. Love how easy it is to make them look cool.
