Trying to learn speed painting in the 30 minute area. I'll be posting them all here. Critiques are welcome/appreciated. I did this one yesterday, so I'll be posting a 2nd one today.
I think second one is much better for sure. Id say use even bigger brushes, and maybe try out the lasso tool to block out shapes.
Really? oh cool. Hmm, I will try bigger brush strokes. Ah ya forgot to use the lasso. I will try focusing on those 2 things for day 4 (already finished to day's).
Day 8 (missed day 7 crap, I'll catch up. Also took 40 minutes on this one instead of 30. I used only one brush for this one to see how it would turn out):
Not bad! would love to see some more contrast between textured and flat surfaces as well as hard and soft edges.
Quick example.
Ok i see, thank you. I will focus on that (I really need to get on using the lasso tool more it seems). I really appreciate the help, and the paint-over really pushed your point .
Day 9 (I blame the crap quality on still feeling a bit sick... probably I just suck. I was on the refining edges phase when I noticed I had 1 minute left) :
PS: ohhhh lol, I miss set the timer. Only gave myself 20 minutes XD oops.
Looking good so far. I can even see improvement over just the few that you've posted; I'd love to commit to something like this, but it's tough will a full time job and a family.
Are you using reference or promts at all, or is it all from your head?

Some are right from my head, and some are from reference. the Mayan ruins, day 2, day 3, and day 9, had reference. The rest were not (I did color sample from a photo for the sky and sand on the beach one, but it looks nothing like the picture.). I got a potential job offer finally, so I've had to put this on pause while I focus on clearing my freelance work queue.
