Hey guys, Want to try and get into trying to Photoscan Guns, I've got a Baretta replica I'm thinking of Scanning, is there anyone who's done a similar approach and got good results before or any pointers I can get?
Oglu is right, unless you can get sub-millimeter accuracy it will look bad, it would make good reference for modelling around and texturing but other than that.
If you want to scan something like a gun, treat the surfaces with a developer spray. Cantesco d2000-a is $6 a can.
A few reasons not to scan a gun:
*Guns are easy and fast to model *You will still need to generate a clean low. If you are already doing a clean low, you could do a clean highpoly with minimal extra work. *Anything you plan to animate or move will need a separate scan.

You can try spraying the items with a dulling spray, but then try to get that off afterwards, yuck.
