Hi guys, so here's my little project for university in which I recreated the set of Dr Strangelove. I am only starting with interior rendering, so critique and advice would be nice.
Thanks, because of the textures that I used some materials have colour with them, but I knew that in the end everything would be in black and white. And yeah they look a bit strange, but this is what they used on the set. There's a good chance that mine have a wider diameter though
Great work all around! As a piece of minor crit I think the glass bottles are okay (while you note not exactly the shapes in the movie) but don't seem to refract with the right thickness or IOR.
What's odd is that in this picture
it looks much better than in the rest. Way more believable thickness and refraction.
Also Krato was joking with you, saying that since your scene doesn't have people they must be ant-sized
This looks fantastic! It wasn't too long ago that I was thinking of taking a stab at this scene myself. I was worried that it might look a little too 'bland' and might not be interesting enough. But you definitely proved this wrong. Your presentation of this is also really excellent!
One thing I noticed in comparison to the last frame of movie reference is the table is split into pie-shaped elements. I don't think a table of that size could be fabricated from one single piece of wood.

Only thing that strikes me as odd is the size of the water bottle opening, it looks to have almost the circumference of the glass.

and I think you're right about the glass, in that one shot it's actually filled with water that's why it looks better. Glad you liked it though
