I actually rig a character for a personnal project. I want to explore all thing around animation on a game engine. I Actually work like a 3d animator rigger for a video game company at Montreal.
Do you have some source or video for import muscle system from maya to Unreal engine 4 ?

I found a recent video, where it is done, but not sure exactly how. My only guess is to use blendshapes..

Blendshapes, although a little tedious, work fine as long as you only use them for extreme deformations. Obviously it also depends on scale of your project.

he seems to be using custom bones or somehow converted muscles into bones. Either way it looks like relatively small amount of additional objects compared to those who offer converting muscles into helpers or points
