Hey guys! Here are some of the results I got using UE4 LPV. It has its downsides, but still looks very promising. Too bad Epics don't do much about it.
LPVs are really awesome and is not as expensive as you might think, i am using it in my current project really nice work man
Thanks, man! By downsides I meant that In large open areas you can literally see the range at which LPV turns off. Increasing the volume's size reduces the overall GI quality and sometimes produces some weird results, not mentioning the framerate issues. Also, at the moment it is supported only by Directional light.
@PolyDjent I believe point lights and spot lights work with LPVs, i am using LPVs for a VR title im creating so im curious about the frame rate issues you are encountering what GPU do you have?
Unfortunately LPV was only created / maintained by Lionhead Studios for the new Fable, and since they don't exist anymore, it's not getting any updates. Epic are pushing DFGI as their real-time lighting solution but that's still in it's early stages. As this shows though, LPV can still look pretty good.
