I am looking to get another desktop for simple 3D modeling... Something around the $600 range. I only do web games/social/mobile, so I don't need anything that great. I also need something that will speed up compile times for recursive testing when programming. However, I do want to be able to use Substance Designer for some simple things.

Here is my current system... It does actually do everything I need pretty much, but it can't do certain things like run Viewport 2.0 for Maya and etc...

Works good enough for most things.

Here is what I was looking at... Just need a simple DDR4 based system. Thinking about getting the warehouse $630 one, and risking needing to replace a component.

Some PC's available on amazon...

Does newegg have any good prebuilt desktops? I built a overclocked gaming PC in college using that website that was great.

After a bit of research, it looks like I will have to custom build this...

A combination of a AMD FX 8350 Black Edition(8 Core) with a 1 or 2GB Nividia video card for starters looks like the best route to go. Nividia required for Viewport 2.0.

I don't work with any scenes, just individual models rendered out, so I don't need the kind of hardware that the artists on this forum need.

Building your own machine is always a good choice. But check against iBuyPower and CyberPowerPC. Sometimes they have prebuilt systems that cost the same as all the parts.
