Thanks guys! Really appreciate your comments. Its so hard to properly judge your own work when you have been staring at it for months. 
We were definitely wondering if the plot twist would work. We tried a 'chekhov's gun' thing with the signs, to try and make sure viewers wouldn't feel cheated. If you know what i mean.
