Blender problems?

Hello, anyone using latest version of blender? Didn't use Blender in a while so not sure if the problem is in the Blender or something else.
Every time I apply textures on the model viewport and UV editor start freezing up and it gets impossible to do anything, I noticed that it doesn't manage memory properly since after deleting H-poly model it still took up 2GB of RAM.

hmm I was getting freezes too and downgraded back to 2.77a. I'm not sure if it was the .blend file I was working on or the new version, didn't test it enough. But freezing like that I've never encountered before.

I'll downgrade, impossible to do anything now.

did you try with a build from the buildbot?

Tried previous version and that one runs even slower. Could be a problem with latest GPU driver.

Notwithstanding driver issues, make sure you're not dealing with orphaned data before reporting. Although you deleted the item, under certain circumstances the actual datablock can remain within Blender. Use the Outliner Editor and check for errant objects that shouldn't be there.
